The Life-Changing Products Exhibit stopped in Charlotte on its spring tour, treating Queen City residents to hands-on demonstrations of several prototypes, including a smart deadbolt that allows you to see who is at the door and valve that shuts off automatically when the water heater or washing machine leaks.
Boyce Thompson, the exhibit’s curator, spoke twice daily to show-goers at the six-day event that spanned two weekends. The show marked the first exhibit appearance for the June convection oven, which sees what you put inside and cooks it evenly. You can watch the progress of your meal from a smartphone app.
The exhibit drew considerable attention from local television stations. Thompson appeared on television four times, including this spot with Fox 46’s Lauren Dugan. People stopped by to see the super-strong drywall, personal robot, and virtual nursery, among other items.
